Enter the DRAGON! VIP's latest VideoHound volume released

ENTER THE DRAGON!

July, 2003 -- There's a new book hitting the shelves entitled VideoHound's DRAGON: ASIAN ACTION & CULT FLICKS, and critics are already calling it the Bible of Asian psychotronic cinema! A spin-off of Visible Ink Press' best-selling VideoHound's Cult Flicks & Trash Pics, this volume outgrew the boundaries of that respected (and fun) video guide to become an even bigger, more in-depth encyclopedia of Hong Kong action, Japanese monsters, Taiwanese kung fu, anime, Filipino horror, and every other kind of Far Eastern genre movies available on video to viewers in the USA.

"...will be the dog eared classic on every genre fan's bookshelf..." - film/video/TV critic Andrew Hershberger

Ever since the dawn of the video age, among the most exciting phenomenon has been the ever-increasing availability of all kinds of cinema to a worldwide audience. Thus, as the cinema of Asia picks up thousands of new fans in America on a daily basis, VideoHound's DRAGON serves as an amiable and informative guide to the exciting, exhilarating, entertaining, and just plain bizarre films from across the Pacific.

Although some may argue the point, it's been said that "psychotronic genius" Brian Thomas was conceived (if not born) at the drive-in, most likely during a double feature of Attack of the Giant Leeches and A Bucket of Blood. After a checkered academic career studying art, writing, and film that was noteworthy for the time he devoted to movies, comic-books and his overall lack of compliance with existing norms, he graduated to full-time subversive activities. The "Creature Preacher" was a founding member of the Psychotronic Film Society, in which he still participates.

As a writer and critic, he has been a correspondent and columnist for many print and online film journals, including Cinescape, Video Watchdog, Thirsty, Smug and Internet Daily News. He was a leading contributor to VideoHound's Cult Flicks & Trash Pics, Sci-Fi Experience and DVD Guide. Hometown: Chicago, Illinois

Based originally in downtown Detroit and now just outside the city in Canton, Michigan, Visible Ink Press™ has been publishing popular (and some not so popular) reference titles since 1991, including the VideoHound film series. Once a part of a big company known as Gale Research then Gale then Gale Inc. then Gale Group, Visible Ink went the independent route in 2000, tired of all the business card modifications.

Visible Ink Press will continue to be the place to turn to for high-quality and downright entertaining reference works. Our goal is to give you more than you would expect. Sometimes much, much more.
